| A
Scout Troop Activity Report The Scout Troop doesn't need any
excuse to hold a cook night, and the annual Burns Night celebration is
no exception! So on 25 January, the Scouts arrived at the Troop meeting
armed with their supplies of haggis, turnips, potatoes and oat cakes.
The 6 Patrols each cooked enough food for the number of Scouts in their
Patrol plus one leader. Once all the food was cooked, All 32 Scouts sat
down together at one long table in the hall, and then the fun really
began!
The haggis was piped into the hall by the Troop's
two pipers. The famous 'Address to the Haggis' poem was read by a PL,
then the haggis was cut open in traditional style! The 'Selkirk Grace'
was read by another PL, then the food was served. Further poems were
read during the meal. |
