| A
Scout Troop Activity Report
Late 2004, a Scout Troop from Germany had arranged a tour of
Scotland, and, in particular, the German Scouts planned multi-day hikes
across the Scottish Highlands. During their 2-night stay in Inverness, Crown
Group hosted the German Troop in our Scout hall.

During their stay in Inverness, the German Troop invited Crown Troop to
join them for a campfire. They also planned to invest three new members,
and a joint-campfire with a Scottish Troop provided a unique opportunity
for an unusual investiture ceremony!
During the campfire, both Troops provided entertaining sketches, skits
and songs. The new members of the German Troop were invested and
presentations of neckies and badges were made between the Scouts and
leaders.
On our return to our Scout hall, an impromptu
football match broke out, and continued well into the night. The Scots
Scouts claimed victory despite their disadvantage (playing football in a
kilt isn't the easiest thing to do!), but a draw was agreed after much
negotiation! |
